In some ways this is a more homogeneous listen than it's predecessor. When it kicks, it kicks like a mule, like opener "Horses". Suicide Swans are remarkably consistent - Kyle's writing still mines below the surface digging out gold from the clay of the every day. Performances are fantastic with the usual sympathetic production. Another superb record!

This is SS achieving some kind of pinnacle trajectory. Their best sounding record by some margin and easily their most accomplished. The commitment in their delivery is breathtaking; Epic is the word i would use to sum it all up. Everything functions to drive these fantastic songs home. Some of Kyle's finest work, too. Try the one two sucker punch of the album openers if you ever needed convincing. Recorded in 14 hours but an album for a lifetime
